A very warm welcome from Dean and Christine. Very cosy and comfortable apartments. You can have a choice of a one bedroom apartment, a two bedroom apartment or three bedroom house all self-catering, clean and spacious. Well, worth a visit. Lot’s of nice walks around the area with bus routes to Leek, Buxton and Ashbourne.

Not sure quite how many times we have stayed here over the past five or six years, but it’s excellent every time. Carolyn and Kevin are fantastic welcoming hosts and they always endeavour to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The properties are kept to a high standard with everything you need at hand. Every effort is made to keep the cottages clean and comfortable and regular updates keep them fresh and inviting. You can’t change the weather, but whatever is going on outside you are sure to be comfortable in your cottage.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough! Spent a total of 6 weeks here with my partner & dog and had the pleasure of staying in both The Roaches and Ramshaw Rock. The cottages are a real home from home, equipped with everything you need. We didn’t have a car but enjoyed some of the local walks, especially around the reservoir and down into Leek.Carolyn and Kevin are wonderful hosts and it’s obvious that a lot of care and attention goes into making sure their guests are well catered for. Hope to make it back again soon! Thank you for having us 😊

A perfect week spent walking around the Peak District with my partner and dogs. We stayed in Ramshaw Rock holiday cottage which was beautifully decorated with traditional touches. It has modern appliances, a very comfortable bed and was spotlessly clean. The complementary chocolates and wine went down well too. Thank you too the hosts Kevin and Carolyn, we will be back.

Local Attractions

We are ideally situated between Leek (Queen of the Moorlands) and Buxton (a stunning spa town), in our own private grounds with views overlooking the Roaches, the gateway to the gorgeous Peak District.

The location is superb for outdoor activities such as climbing, walking and cycling.

Attractions are too many to mention but include the Chatsworth Estate, Alton Towers, Trentham Gardens and The Pavilion Gardens in Buxton.

For the shopping experience – The Potteries, Bakewell (the cutest, most beautifully kept town in our opinion) and the many markets in the area mean that there is always somewhere to be.
